Jul, 2006 - Aug, 2006 Australia, SA South Australian electricity transmission network operator ElectraNet required the identification of potential low spans on around 1,000 kms of their transmission lines. The scope of works included airborne LIDAR and aerial imagery data acquisition, establishment of ground control network and ground check-points, development of reliable PLS-CADD models and generation of low spans reports. Identification of low spans required calculation of conductors’ temperature applying CIGRE methodology and using meteo data collected in the field. Deliverables are feature-coded LIDAR data, PLS-CADD models, high-resolution orthophoto and engineering reports identifying low and potentially low spans at maximum operating temperature. |

May, 2006 USA, California Airborne LiDAR survey of 30 km corridor with three overhead power transmission lines running alongside. Survey was required to develop computer models for design of overhead line facilities and modeling for analysis of existing lines.
