As early as in 1996 OPTEN started a dynamic program to develop and employ airborne LiDAR survey systems. This work was ahead of the competition and focused exclusively on servicing the electric utility and pipeline industries. OPTEN was a true pioneer in providing LiDAR surveys for the purpose of new line construction, line sag analysis, and uprating of existing transmission lines. Today OPTEN operates several ALTM units both in Russia and internationally.
The expertise of OPTEN in LiDAR power line aerial surveys is recognized in many countries worldwide and allows it ranking among the world leaders of the market. To date, using laser survey technologies OPTEN has successfully carried out “corridor-type” surveys of more than 70,000 km, with over 40,000 km of overhead power lines circuits among them. OPTEN uses exclusive tactics for each its project and always takes into account the special requirements of the Client. All contract deliverables are supplied in the format of Client’s standard documentation or provide complete engineering solutions including a specialized information system for storage, management and interactive exchange of newly acquired survey data.
OPTEN is ISO 9001:2000 certified by IQNet and was the first in the industry to receive ISO 9001 certification for LiDAR power lines surveys. Our personnel are highly experienced in power engineering and remote sensing. The technical staff includes over 100 certified engineers with 10% of them at the PhD level.
