Aerial Mapping Services
OPTEN’s airborne laser survey data for general topographic purposes conveys valuable information about the topography of the area under the survey. High resolution digital photography, time- and coordinates-stamped video accompanying the final results provide our Client with a more detailed picture of the examined locality.
Digital Terrain Model and Digital Elevation Model created from the accurate X, Y, Z coordinates of the terrain and on-ground objects, ideally serve the following spheres:
Inventory and land register
Our airborne LiDAR survey data finds its application within the framework of inventory and land register projects. The 3D laser data brings accurate information about the topography and various objects found within the territory under the survey.
Large-scale mapping
The results of OPTEN’s large-scale mapping can be effectively used for various types of topographic mapping, landscape design, as well as coal & mine mapping.
Urban mapping
There is a potentially strong demand for detailed 3D spatial data of urban areas. OPTEN’s airborne laser survey presents an effective and fast way of acquiring 3D models of urban environment. The data can be applied for the extension of the existing spatial data resources, infrastructure mapping or construction planning and design.
Assessment of natural disaster damage extent
It is extremely important to possess the information necessary to forecast the possible consequences caused by natural disasters. Manipulating with the acquired 3D data our Client can work out preventive or resistance measures in advance. In comparison with conventional methods our airborne LiDAR survey proves to be much more time-efficient, affordable and secure.
Our method is ideal for floodplain mapping thanks to the ability of the laser scanner to penetrate through the vegetation layer acquiring the true terrain surface data. Effective floodplain management relies on the precise elevation data, which allows predicting the levels of flood risk.
Airborne LiDAR survey data can also be used to monitor snow glacier movement, snow accumulation and forecast an avalanche case.

On the basis of the precise elevation data one can predict and monitor the slope failure, or carry out the damage assessment and mapping.
Environmental applications
The processed laser survey data efficiently finds its application in the environmental sphere.
For the needs of forestry we deliver a bare-earth Digital Elevation Model of the forested land and/or relevant vegetation parameters such as canopy, tree height, forest mixtures etc.
Among other applications of our laser survey data there is coastal engineering, wetlands mapping and beach erosion control.
