| Slovenia, December 2002 | ELES |
| Survey of 300 km of overhead power transmission lines for Elektro-Slovenija (ELES). 110 kV and 220 kV lines. This survey was conducted as extension to project we performed for ELES in September 2002 (please refer to description below). | |
| South of Russia October-November 2002 | KubanEnergo |
| Survey of 1,250 km of 110 kV and 220 kV overhead power transmission lines for KubanEnergo. KubanEnergo is the owner and operator of power transmission network in the South of Russia. The project objective was to survey existing power lines and produce detailed and updated documentation as well as to register right-of-way land use. Using airborne laser survey data we performed sag-tension analysis, critical clearances identification and 3D vegetation mapping, created high-resolution digital orthophoto map and ArcView GIS of the transmission network. Survey flights were challenging stage of the project due to very steep and mountainous terrain KubanEnergo lines run through. In this environment laser survey was the only solution to acquire the data our Client required. | |
| Slovenia September 2002 | ELES |
| Survey of 500 km of overhead power transmission lines for Elektro-Slovenija (ELES). 220 kV and 400 kV lines. Deliverables included feature-coded data in PLS-CADD format, post-processed laser and photo data in proprietary viewer format and supply of proprietary software. High-resolution digital orthophoto map was created for direct use in PLS-CADD and proprietary viewer. Using laser data and digital orthophoto we produced transmission network GIS in ArcView format. We also conducted sag-tension analysis and presented the results in MS Excel sheet forms as per Client’s instructions together with other data obtained both from laser survey and that was already available. Some of this data was then presented in GRIDMC database form. | |
| North-East of Russia August 2002 | Giprotruboprovod |
| Survey of 300 sq. km route for oil pipeline preliminary design and construction feasibility study. Deliverables included GIS with 1:2000 scale bare-earth digital terrain model, high-resolution digital orthophoto and 25:000 scale maps, objects layers and elements of route modeling. | |
| North-West of Russia June-July 2002 | RAO UES |
| Survey of 2,000 km of 500 kV overhead power lines for RAO UES. The project objective was to survey existing power lines and produce detailed and updated documentation. Using airborne laser survey data we performed sag-tension analysis, critical clearances identification and 3D vegetation mapping, created high-resolution digital orthophoto map and ArcView GIS of the transmission network. The data delivered ready to use in PLS-CADD and in proprietary viewer format as well as in MS Excel sheet forms. | |
| Moscow region of Russia May 2002 | RAO UES |
| Survey of 750 km of 500 kV overhead power lines for RAO UES. The project objective was to survey existing power lines and produce detailed and updated documentation. Using airborne laser survey data we performed identification of critical clearances, created 3D vegetation model, produced high-resolution digital orthophoto map and ArcView GIS of the transmission network. Data was delivered in proprietary viewer format and in MS Excel sheet forms. | |
| New Zealand January-March 2002 | TRANSPOWER (NZ) Ltd. |
| Survey of 3,700 km of overhead power transmission lines for Transpower New Zealand Ltd. Survey objective was to collect accurate three-dimensional information for sag-tension analysis and uprating studies. Deliverables include feature-coded laser data, high-resolution digital orthophoto, and conductor temperature data. We also supplied time-stamped forward-looking and downward-looking video in VHS format. Laser data and digital orthophoto formats – both proprietary and in PLS-CADD. In consideration of rugged terrain Transpower lines run through, we implemented special methodology of weather monitoring and modeling for conductor temperature calculations. |
