Israel Electric Company
The company OPTEN has completed a pilot project on 300 km power transmission lines survey in Israel. Specialists performed airborne LiDAR survey (ORION C300) and digital photo survey (ImperX i16). In accordance with customer requirements, DIM-VL devices, which accumulate temperature measurements directly on OHL wires, were installed on the test lines.

These data were subsequently used for the following verification of laser scanning data processing results. Moreover, upon completion of the project, demonstration of DIM-VL usage for OHL state online thermal monitoring for dynamic rating was organized.

Another important requirement specified by the customer was to assure security of the processed data. Therefore, OPTEN in cooperation with the customer developed a set of measures directed at protection of the survey data from breaches. Survey data processing was performed on the territory of Israel in secure room specially equipped for this purpose.

Within the framework of the project, on the basis of LiDAR and digital photo survey results OPTEN carried out a number of engineering reports, some of them are: high-resolution orthophotoplans, oblique images of towers with georeference, results of  identification of towers, insulators and other elements of OHL, vector plans of OHL right-of-ways, packages of OHL PLS-CADD models, list of detected violations etc.
